Public debate on "European Parliament elections - a challenge for the future of the EU?"

On 23 April 2019, we organised a public debate at the Representation of the European Commission in Lithuania on the European Parliament elections – a challenge for the future of the EU, where we talked about the upcoming 2019 European elections and the possible threats they could pose to the future of the EU.

The main theme of the discussion was the rise of the far-right in Europe and its growing influence on EU politics.

The discussion was attended by Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Head of the European Commission Representation in Lithuania and patron of the Association, Linas Kojala, Director of the Centre for East European Studies, Margarita Šešelgytė, political scientist and current Director of the VU IIRPS, as well as Sergej Stoma, a JDI alumnus and current member of the Board.

The discussion was moderated by Povilas Gembickis, a member of the Association’s Board and a student of Political Science at VU IIRPS.
