Discussion: 'Could Lithuania Learn from Germany's Holocaust Remembrance Culture?'

On 6 March 2020, together with the German Embassy in Lithuania, we organised a discussion ‘Could Lithuania Learn from Germany’s Holocaust Remembrance Culture?’ in the Embassy’s Great Hall. The main aim of the discussion was to compare the Lithuanian and German cultures of Holocaust remembrance, to discuss their similarities and differences, and their historical context. The discussion was moderated by Povilas Gembickis, a member of the Association’s Board, and featured the participation of Lukas Welz, Chairman of the Board of the AMCHA organisation from Germany, and representatives of the Anne Frank Youth Network in Lithuania. The opening speech before the debate was given by the German Ambassador in Lithuania Matthias Sonn. The event was held in English.
