Every year, ten Central and Eastern European countries host a debate competition “Jugend debattiert in Mittel-, Ost- und Südosteuropa” (eng. Youth Debates in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe).
More than 2000 students debate in German and compete in their schools and towns, and if they win the national debate, they go on to represent their country in the international debate.
The project’s patron in Lithuania is Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania.
We contribute to the organising, promotion, and development of the debate project in Lithuania, raise the qualifications of the project participants (students, alumni, teachers), foster the culture of debate in Lithuania, encourage young people to take an interest in current political and social issues and teach them how to express their own opinions in a well-founded and strong manner.
